Sweet Rose Creamery will be hosting a pop-up store on the TGS patio every fourth Sunday of the month starting March 21st to September!
As special treat, opening weekend will be March 21st and 22nd – both Saturday and Sunday . Tortoise customers can expect ice-cream and coffee to be sold on our patio from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm and the pop-up store will last from March to September – keeping things cool as Venice heats up!
Behind the flavors at Sweet Rose, many people know that Shiho Yoshikawa is the talented dessert chef at Sweet Rose Creamery. Her range of flavors and ode to the tastes she grew up with reflect an incredible passion for food, as well as her life in Japan.
Shiho left Japan, to come to the United States whens she was only 15 – to study art and English. Her love of art later led her to explore the culinary world and she began working at the famous Tartine bakery in San Francisco right after culinary school. In 2010 Shiho moved to Los Angeles to help her friend – from her former days at Tartine – Zoe Nathan, the co-owner of Sweet Rose. She will be making a “special” flavor just in time for this pop-up exclusively for Tortoise customers and we can’t wait to see what she will come up with!
